My first series “The Birth Of Consciousness” seeks to study the fundamental forms which constitute the psyche and to explore the conception of intelligent beings as a natural by-product of cosmic expansion. This exploration is inspired by the theories of psychic automatism. As a student of Artificial Intelligence I believe it is incredibly important to revisit surrealist techniques through the lens of modern technology. More specifically, I believe that surrealist art represents a deep visualization of the abstract space blending the visual forms and the feelings of the human mind. In other words, all knowledge is encoded in a way that can “replay” or “reconstruct” the sensory inputs that created it (though there is loss due to compression and truncation)… art is an attempt to replay this knowledge projected into 2 dimensions… all movements from realism to cubism to abstract expressionism are simply different projections, capturing different sets of information at various scales. In 100 years we will realize that human cognition creates a sensory space whose topology is complex but can be “probed” through the process of art of all forms.
